Ryan is a graduate of UCLA in 1982 and won Degree in History. He also earned his MBA from the College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Ryan is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, the program has been started in 1979 at the Delta Eta Chapter at UCLA. He was a pretty good tennis player and member of Riviera Country Club and Bel-Air Bay Club, both located in Los Angeles.
After graduating from UCLA, Ryan joined William O'Neil + Co., Inc. in Los Angeles. During his tenure with the company he advises clients on the selection of stock and general market trends through the company's products in the title of the article content: "New Stock Market Ideas". In 1992, Ryan became a portfolio manager of New USA Mutual Fund, where Ryan served as chief market analyst. In 1997 O'Neil selling books USA NEW GROWTH FUND, to institute MFS Financial Services of Boston, MA, and William O'Neil + Co., Inc. out of the mutual fund business.
From 1982 to 1998, David Ryan worked with William O'Neil, founder of Investors Business Daily, the main responsibility is to give advice on stock trading 500 major companies to the reader. David is the primary portfolio manager of New USA Growth Fund. New USA Growth Fund is a mutual fund management company that has aggressive growth with assets of 200 million dollars.

Ryan currently serves on the board of trustees of the Union Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the poor and homeless.
